September 11 — 7:30pm, Beaver Island District Library

The events are free of admission, come as you are, and welcoming for everyone to experience. I’ll have plenty of books on-hand at the event for sale and signing. As always, they are available on this site in paperback or as MP3 audio downloads. The books are self-published to the highest quality, with cover photography, layout, design, and publishing all done by me; likewise, I read, recorded, produced, and published the audiobooks.
My writing is intended for all readers, from people who love poetry and alway like fresh voices to people who never could imagine reading poetry. Two great recent compliments I received were from people who love reading but never saw themselves reflected in the poetry they encountered. This quote is from an air traffic controller who messaged me after buying Trample & Sew.
“So if I’m being completely honest, I’ve never been a fan of poetry (…) I cracked open Trample & Sew and it opened to ‘With Tenderest Consideration.’ I’ve been sitting and thinking about that poem for the last ten minutes staring at the wall with a little wet in my eyes. Maybe I just never read poetry I liked?”
And from a US Navy officer:
“I’m about to say something I’ve never said before: I truly enjoyed your poetry books and plan on rereading them.”
You can check out my Instagram or Facebook pages for videos of me reading work. I hope that you’ll pick up copies to see for yourself that the writing tries first and foremost to be enjoyable and of service to readers by sharing what I think are moving observations and meditations on life, people, spirituality, work, daily life, and art itself, in plain language and approachable formats. I write the poetry that I need to read and do not easily find elsewhere. I think it will mean something to all readers if given the chance to.
